oopsie almost forgot this week
What have you been listening to this week?
Talk about whatever music has marked your radar that you feel like talking about this week.
This week I checked out..
Ben Folds Five - Whatever And Ever Amen

After hearing the song "Army" a couple times while watching Nirvanna The Band The Show, I decided to check out one of these guys' albums. And y'know what, I'm pleasantly surprised. I like it a lot more than I was expecting to. Lotta catchy tracks. Are they a little dorky? Yes. No way around that. But not to a point where that eclipses my enjoyment. Fave tracks are probably "Fair", "Brick", and "Smoke". Would recommend.
(We will be leaving mention of his "Bitches Ain't Shit" cover for another discussion)
I also relistened to...
Syzy - The weight of the world

God this album is so fucking good. People have called it overhyped yeah but after having most of the EDM scene out of my line of sight for a good chunk of recent history, this album really brought my attention back. It makes me feel like I really got a lot of catching up to do as far as the "dubstep landscape" goes (for lack of a better term). Amazing production, definitely inspiring. Favourite track is probably "In your face".
Aaand a quick plug for our other weekly thread, the Skrillex Book Club! Last week, we checked out the debut EP, 'My Name Is Skrillex'. This coming week, we're checkin' out the classic, 'Scary Monsters And Nice Sprites' (I think - will link once thats up).
